Wishing you all a wonderful, restful, peaceful holiday season! See you in 2024!
Who Remembers Mr. Campbell?
The Archives received a letter from Mr. Campbell, who turned 83 in August, but is in good health. He “became a snowbird from 2003 til 2014 …[and] traveled the world” and lived for a while on a Pima Indian reservation. He still lives in Arizona. He writes: “I enjoyed my work. Precious memories of co-workers & all my students. I know I worked them all hard - but so did I.”
Algae met a bear. The bear met algae. The bear was bulgy. The bulge was algae.
He writes that “a former student blurted this out when I back in downtown Decatur several years back!”
Thank you from the School Archives
It has been a great year of alumni photos, events, and interaction. I want to thank all of you for your support of the work that I do, for trusting me with your stories and school items, and for being a part of saving our school’s history. This past year I met many of you at the open house last January and at the alumni tent and enjoyed talking with you; I hope to meet many more of you in 2024 at the Hall of Fame Banquet or Homecoming Tent. Have a wonderful holiday season and enjoy the beginning of 2024!
